刘应东先生为资深金融服务专业人士，拥有超过15年投资银行、财富管理及资产管理经验。毕业于牛津大学数学硕士（一级荣誉），持有特许金融分析师（CFA）、金融风险管理师（FRM）及认证财富管理顾问（CWMA）资格。
创立金泉集团前，刘先生曾于麦格理集团（投资银行部）、瑞银（财富管理部）及怡安保险（金融服务及专业团队）担任高级职务，主导亚太区并购、首次公开招股及财富管理业务，服务机构及超高净值客户。早年曾于太古集团企业融资部及韬睿惠悦退休金部门实习。
刘先生亦积极参与香港公共服务，其公职委任包括：

Ellis Lau is a seasoned financial services professional with over 15 years of experience spanning investment banking, wealth management, and asset management. He holds a Master of Mathematics (First Class Honours) from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA).
Before founding Gold Spring Group, Ellis held senior positions at Macquarie Group (Investment Banking), UBS (Wealth Management), and Aon (Financial Services & Professional Group), where he led origination and execution of M&As, IPOs, and wealth management mandates for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients across Asia-Pacific. He began his career with internships at Swire Pacific (Corporate Finance) and Towers Watson (Retirement Benefits).
Ellis is also a dedicated contributor to public service in Hong Kong. His government and public body appointments include:
