劉應東先生為資深金融服務專業人士，擁有超過15年投資銀行、財富管理及資產管理經驗。畢業於牛津大學數學碩士（一級榮譽），持有特許金融分析師（CFA）、金融風險管理師（FRM）及認證財富管理顧問（CWMA）資格。
創立金泉集團前，劉先生曾於麥格理集團（投資銀行部）、瑞銀（財富管理部）及怡安保險（金融服務及專業團隊）擔任高級職務，主導亞太區併購、首次公開招股及財富管理業務，服務機構及超高淨值客戶。早年曾於太古集團企業融資部及韜睿惠悅退休金部門實習。
劉先生亦積極參與香港公共服務，其公職委任包括：

Ellis Lau is a seasoned financial services professional with over 15 years of experience spanning investment banking, wealth management, and asset management. He holds a Master of Mathematics (First Class Honours) from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA).
Before founding Gold Spring Group, Ellis held senior positions at Macquarie Group (Investment Banking), UBS (Wealth Management), and Aon (Financial Services & Professional Group), where he led origination and execution of M&As, IPOs, and wealth management mandates for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients across Asia-Pacific. He began his career with internships at Swire Pacific (Corporate Finance) and Towers Watson (Retirement Benefits).
Ellis is also a dedicated contributor to public service in Hong Kong. His government and public body appointments include:
